As a family member of a freedom fighter, I want to thank the judges and prosecutors for starting the case. The international terrorist groups in Pakistan are now very alert and they are lobbying with the USA and other influential countries to sabotage the trail. Javed
It may have taken 40 long years but the war criminals of 1971 have finally been charged for crimes against humanity. I lost my grandmother and my eldest uncle in the hands of the collaborators in Dinajpur. We have waited all these years for the collaborators to be tried for committing murder, arson, rape and looting. I want to thank Sheikh Hasina and her government for this incredible task. Now, let the process of healing begin for the victims' traumatized families. Ahmed
It is beyond my comprehension why it took 40 years for the victims and their families to come out with these allegations. He has been around even when BNP-Jamaat was not in power. Surely, they could have pursued justice for their loved ones long time ago. It all seems fishy to me. Luffy
This political trail by the AL is just to please their Indian masters. Will this be internationally recognised? Zahidul Islam Biswas
The report says: 'Sayedee was directly involved in abduction, confinement and raping of several girls. He raped a Hindu girl on several occasions. He also forced some Hindus to convert to Islam, an act the court considers a crime against humanity.' This type of reporting is very misleading. It is reported in such a way that it may give an idea that these offences were proved in the court of law, which is not true. Simply, these are charges made against Sayedee. The Daily Star should be careful in such reporting and must be careful in usingwords. The wording of this report is quite defamatory and legally actionable.
