Shops gutted in Barisal
Five shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at Basail bazaar in Agoiljhara upazila on Sunday morning. Fire service and police said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the shop of Sekandar Shikdar and soon engulfed adjacent four shops of the market. On information, fire service personnel from Gournadi fire station rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of local people. Four people were injured while extinguishing the fire.The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to Tk 8 lakh.
