15 BNP activists injured in BCL attack in Bhola
At least 15 BNP activists were injured in BCL attacks in Lalmohan municipal area on Saturday night and Friday.
Locals and witnesses said, armed BCL activists waylaid and beat up BNP activists who were coming to Lalmohan to attend view-exchange meeting with BNP vice chairman and former minister Maj (rtd) Hafizuddin Ahmed on Friday.
Ten BNP activists, including Kajol Haoladar of Khaserhat of Tajumuddin upazila and Sramik Dal leader Forkan of Noyadi village of Lalmohan upazila were seriously injured. They were admitted to local hospital.
BCL activists again swooped on BNP and Jubo Dal activists on Saturday afternoon as they were coming to Lalmohan town from different unions of Lalmohan and Tajumuddin upazilas to attend the programme.
Five BNP activists, including Jubo Dal secretary Harun-or-Rashid, Poura Jubo Dal organising secretary Maksudur Rahman and upazila Jubo Dal organising secretary Hasan Kazi received stab wounds. They were admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital and Charfasion Hospital Saturday night.
BCL activists with sticks and sharp weapons rambled on the streets till late night to prevent BNP activists from attending the view exchange programme.
