OMS rice seized, one arrested
Police recovered one metric tonne of rice meant for Open Market Sale (OMS) in Poura Bazar area yesterday and arrested one person in this connection.
Acting on a tip off, a team led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sheikh Yasuf Harun raided 'Tania Bhander' and found the OMS rice.
Later District Police Super Abdul Kuddus Amin and some other police members came to the spot and arrested Khasru Sheikh, 40, owner of the shop.
