UZ vice chairman hacked to death
A upazila vice chairman was hacked to death by criminals in Kishoreganj on Saturday night.
Md Rafiqul Islam Milon, 38, vice chairman of Katiadi upazila, came under attack near Katiadi bus stand while he was going to Bazitpur around 5:00pm, said Md Farid Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Katiadi police station.
The criminals stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured, he added.
Milon was rushed to Bajitpur Zahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his condition worsened.
He succumbed to his injuries at DMCH around 9:00pm.
Agitating local people blocked roads and staged demonstrations at night protesting the killing.
Police later arrested four people.
