Four housewives murdered allegedly by husbands
Four housewives have been killed allegedly by their husbands in Natore, Brahmanbaria, Kurigram and Khulna districts.
A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Nawdapara village under Naldanga PS in Natore Sadar upazila on Saturday night, reports our correspondent.
Victim Selina Begum, 28, was wife of Solaiman Ali of the village and daughter of Bahar Uddin of Banshbag village in the upazila.
Police quoting local people said, Solaiman and his first wife Nasima Banu beat up Selina injuring her seriously after she locked in a quarrel with Nasima on Saturday noon.
Being informed, Selina's brother Kamal took her to a local hospital in critical condition where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
Solaiman and Nasima went into hiding following the incident.
In Brahmanbaria, police recovered the body of housewife Ferdousi Begum, 20, from her house at Gokornaghat of the town on Saturday.
Ferdousi was wife of Shahin Mia of Gokornaghat. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling of the house.
The victim's relatives claimed that Ferdousi was murdered by her husband and family members. Husband Shahin and his family members fled away after the incident.
In Kurigram, housewife Shefali Begum, 23, was killed allegedly by her husband following a family feud in Nageswari upazila on Tuesday, reports our correspondent.
Shefali was wife of Md Faruque of Mominganj village under Nageswari municipality.
Police said Faruque, 30, son of Alef Uddin of Mominganj village married Shefali about three years ago. They often quarreled over triffle issues after their marriage.
On the fateful day, they locked in a quarrel and Faruque mercilessly beat her up leaving her dead on the spot.
Later he along with family members went into hiding.
In Khulna, a housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Kashimnagar village in Paikgachha upazila on Monday.
The victim was identified as Jharna Begum, 36, wife of Moktar Morol, 42, of the village.
Police said, Moktar picked up a quarrel at night with Jharna over her alleged extramarital affair with a young man.
At one stage, he beat Jharna mercilessly, leaving her critically injured.
Jharna later died at Khulna Medical College and Hospital at about 11:00 pm.
