Arms, bombs seized, 2 held
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in separate drives arrested two criminals and recovered a pistol, four cocktails, passports and bomb-making materials from their possession in Barguna and Patuakhali districts yesterday and on Tuesday night.
A team of Rab-8 arrested Abdur Razzak Howlader, 42 of Kalagachia village under Amtali upazila in Barguna district early yesterday and recovered a pistol from his possession.
A case under Arms Act was filed against him with Amtali Police Station.
In Patuakhali, Rab arrested a criminal, raiding his house in the town on Tuesday night and recovered four cocktails from a septic tank at the house.
The arrestee is Profulla Das, 40, of Jalisha village under Dumki upazila of the district.
The law enforcers also seized two passports, bomb-making materials and three mobile sets from the house of the arrestee. A case filed with Patuakhali Sadar Police Station.
