Narsingdi businessman hacked to death

Criminals murdered a businessman at Bhurburia village in Shibpur upazila on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Shaheed Mia, 35, of the village. Father of two children Shaheed is a businessman of Narsingdi town. Police quoting family sources said, a gang of criminals called Shaheed out of his house and took him to a nearby field at around 9pm. The gangsters hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons leaving him dead on the spot at around 10. In Munshiganj, two accused yesterday confessed to killing a trader for Tk 20,000 in Gazaria upazila of the district on Tuesday. The alleged killers are Arif, 27, and Jony, 22, of village Tetuitola in the same upazila. They confessed to Munshiganj Judicial Magistrate Abul Hasnat under Section 164 on the day saying they were hired to kill the trader. They said one Shafiq of village Nagarpur in Tangail district was not in good terms with his brother-in-law Abul, a trader of the same village, as Abul was delaying to repay Tk 20,000 he borrowed from Shafiq earlier. The killers said Shafique along with his wife's brother Russell as per a plan to kill Abul Hossain called him to his father in law's house in Gazaria. They said Russell hired them earlier and as per contract they hacked Abul Hossain to death on the night of March 25, this year.
