Two accomplices of little Tarin's rapist arrested
Police yesterday arrested two accused in the case for raping eight-year-old Tarin from Paschimpar Dighuli village under Titpolla union in Jamalpur Sadar upazila.
The arrestees -- Jamal, 35, and Abdul Karim alias Kana Kori, 40, of village Paschimpar Dighuli, allegedly helped Harun-or-Rashid, the rape accused, to conceal the heinous act for days through a monetary deal.
Raped allegedly by Harun-or-Rashid of Paschimpar Dighuli on April 8, Tarin, daughter of Chan Mia of village Patilakura under Jamalpur Sadar upazila, died without any treatment on Sunday night.
In this connection the victim's grandmother filed a case against six people including Harun and the two arrestees with Jamalpur Sadar police station on Monday night.
A 12-member police team led by Inspector (Investigation) Md Ramijul Haque, also investigation officer (IO) of the case, caught Jamal and Kori after a chase at a paddy field some one kilometre away from their village at around 1:30pm, said the IO.
"Under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Abdur Razzak, several police teams have been formed to arrest rapist Harun-or-Rashid and other accused," he said.
