2 held, arms recovered
A woman was arrested with firearms and drugs from her residence on the outskirts of Kushtia town Sunday evening.
Arrestee Rekha Khatun, 38, is involved with arms and drug peddling, police suspected.
A Kushtia narcotics department team led by assistant inspector Sunil Kumar raided Rekha's house in Chourhas area in the town around 5:30pm. The team recovered two locally-made guns and one kg hemp from the house.
Rekha was handed over to Kushtia Sadar police station.
Meanwhile, police arrested a cadre of the outlawed Biplobi Communist Party (BCP) and recovered firearms and ammunition from his possession in Mirpur upazila, Kushtia.
A team from Mirpur police station raided the house of Jalal Uddin Pramanik, 32, and recovered a LG and two bullets from a place near his house.
