Three kids drown
Three kids drowned in ponds in Satkhira and Barisal on Friday and the day before.
A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond at village Mahmudpur in Tala upazila of Satkhira Friday afternoon, reports our correspondent.
The victim was identified as Babu, son of Ali Hossain of the village. Quoting local people police said Babu while playing by the side of the pond suddenly fell in it and drowned at about 5pm.
Later locals found the body floating in the pond at about 6:30pm.
In Barisal, two children drowned in a pond Thursday morning at Goria Gava village in Uzirpur upazila, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Sifat, 5, son of Jamal Bepari and Lamia, 6, daughter of Kamal Bepari of the village. They were cousins.
Police and family sources said the two children remained missing since Thursday morning when they went out of their house for playing.
Their parents searched for them in different areas. They also made an announcement in this regard through loud speakers.
Later, locals found the bodies floating in a nearby pond on Friday morning and informed their parents who recovered the bodies.
