<i> Another fishing cat's life in danger</i>

Panic gripped the people of Rajnagar, Titua, Nawapara, Roailbari, Amtola, Kailati, Roypur, Balati and Rajnagar villagers in Kendua upazila under Netrakona district as a fishing cat killed three cows and four goats during the last three days. "As a fishing cat created panic in the area, I informed the upazila administration and police of the matter but no initiative has been taken in this regard,” said local union parishad Chairman Toufiq Ahmad. Kendua Police Station Officer in Charge Mosharaf Hossain said they are trying their best to catch the fishing cat with the help of villagers. When contacted, Sheikh Touhidul Islam, assistant conservator of Mymensingh Divisional Forest Office, said they did not get any information about the fishing cat. With sharp weapons in hand, a good number of villagers are trying to catch the animal. Earlier on February 13, people of Balati village killed a fishing cat, caught another and handed it over to the forest office in Mymensingh.
