Shops gutted
At least six shops were gutted in a fire that broke out in Zirani Tenguri area of Ashulia early yesterday. Fire service and local sources said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop at about 2:30am. Soon the fire engulfed five other adjacent shops. On information, fire service personnel from DEPZ rushed to the spot and doused the flame with the help of locals after two hours of frantic efforts. Affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss might go up to Tk 50 lakh.
