13 houses gutted
At least 13 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out near Mawa ferry terminal under Louhajong upazila early yesterday. Originating from a burning mosquito coil in a room of one Ariz, the fire broke out at around 3:00am on Monday, Sub-Inspector Tofael, also in-charge of Mawa river outpost said. Soon, the fire engulfed the adjacent 12 houses. On information, a fire service unit from Sreenagar rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after an hour of frantic effort.
