13 more witnesses give deposition before court
The special court-15 on Monday completed recording statements of the prosecution witnesses (PWs) in the mutiny case against 71 jawans of 30 Battalion in Panchhari upazila under Khagrachhari district.
Thirteen more PWs gave their statements before the court on the day.
After recording statements, the court headed by Khagrachhari Sector Commander Col Abu Wahab Mohammad Hafizul Haque adjourned the trial proceedings at 9:30am on April 3.
Two others member of the court are Lt Col Sayedis Sakline and Major AZM Golam Mostafa AL Mamun. All the 71 accused were produced in the court.
Of the 71 accused, two confessed to their involvement in the mutiny at the battalion on February 26 in 2009 and begged for mercy while the rest claimed innocence.
Those confessed to their involvement in the mutiny are sepoys Nazrul, Faruk Mia, Sakhawat, Jony Alam and Md Bashir and havildar Solaiman.
Deputy Attorney General Farhad Ahmad and Prosecutor Lt Col Md Zakir Hossain were also present in the court.
