Robbers loot houses
Robbers looted valuables from five houses at Ujalpur and neighbouring Suvodpur villages in Sadar upazila early Friday. Local people said, a gang of robbers numbering 10/15, entered the houses of Rezaul Karim, Shahidur Rahman and Atiar Rahman of Ujalpur village one after another late at night and looted cash and valuables keeping the house members hostage at gunpoint. Hearing the cry for help, locals rushed in and chased the robbers. At one stage the fleeing robbers hurled three bombs at them leaving Harun, Abdur Rahim and Ijjat Ali injured on the spot. Later, the same gang stormed into the houses of Khoybar Ali and Zibra Mondol at Suvodpur village and looted valuables including cash and gold ornaments.
