Shops gutted

At least 10 shops were gutted in a fierce fire which broke out at a market at Dokanghar Chowrasta in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night. Local people said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a shop at about 7:00pm and soon engulfed the adjacent nine shops. The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss could go up to Tk 50 lakh.
