Stolen rubber recovered
Bahubal police in Habiganj district in a drive on Thursday recovered 220 sacks of stolen rubber worth Tk 3.3 lakh from the house of one Rahmat Ali at Suaiya Bazaar.
The drive was launched on the basis of confessional statements given by four people who were arrested by Madhabpur police in another drive on Wednesday morning.
On the Dhaka-Sylhet highway they seized a pick-up van carrying 50 sacks of rubber. The pick-up was on the way to the capital from Shahjibazar rubber garden.
Manager of the state-run Shahjibazar rubber garden filed a case with the Madhabpur PS, the officer in charge, Mainuddin Chowdhury said.
