Strike at MMCH called off
Interns and students of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital yesterday called off their indefinite strike following assurance of the authorities of meeting their demands.
They went on strike last Saturday in protest against the attack on them by some local people Thursday. They were demanding punishment to the attackers.
Following the fruitful negotiations with the authorities concerned, the striking interns and students called off their program me at 1pm.
Earlier, the intern doctors and some outsiders of nearby Charpara area locked in an altercation over harassing a female intern by a stalker on Thursday night.
Following the incident, some people of the area allegedly attacked the interns and vandalised several rooms of the hospital.
