Kuta starts agitation
Khunla University Teachers' Association (Kuta) has started agitation yesterday to press home their two-point demand.
The demands are cancellation of adhoc appointment of officials and employees and inclusion of two teachers in the Selection Board of the university.
Kuta also demanded legal action against acting registrar of the university.
The agitation programmes announced at a Kuta meeting on February 17 include wearing of black badges from Sunday till February 24 and work stoppage for two hours from February 27 till March 1.
Work stoppage for indefinite period will start from March 2 if the demands are not met by March 1, said A K Fazlul Huq, president of Kuta. Huq told this correspondent that they will sit with the university authorities on February 22 to discuss their demands.
