Three teachers holding important administrative posts at Islamic University (IU) resigned on Saturday. They are student advisor Saidur Rahman, assistant proctor Dr Atikur Rahman and provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Dr Mahbubur Rahman. Campus sources said the teachers submitted their resignation letters to vice-chancellor Professor Dr Alauddin in the afternoon. Once close aide to the VC, they resigned following a disagreement over teacher's role at the university, they said. Chhatra League (BCL) IU unit recently staged a demonstration on the university's administrative building premises demanding immediate resignation of 'some teachers for their role'.
