12-yr-old boy punished for teasing girl
A mobile court here on Friday fined a 12-year-old boy Tk 2000 on charge of teasing a girl student in the town.
Police said convict Rasel of Kalupur village under Jhilim union, teased the school girl on Friday evening while she was going to a coaching centre. Parents of the girl caught the boy and handed him over to police.
The mobile court led by UNO Manirul Islam Patowari handed down the verdict.
Away in Mymensingh, a mobile court on Thursday sentenced three people to jail, each for three months, for teasing a woman.
They were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 21, Kamal Hossain, 20, and Gopal Chandra Ghosh, 19, hailed from Gouripur upazila, reports our correspondent.
Officer-in-charge of GRP Mymensingh Md. Abul Khayer said, the three young men started teasing Rina, 22, after getting down from Mymensingh-Mohanganj train at Gouripur railway station at noon.
She was going to her uncle's house at Alampur in Gouripur from Mymensingh.
Rina immediately informed the matter to the police. Police picked up the stalkers and took them to GRP Mymensingh police station at around 10:30pm.
Later, a mobile court led by executive magistrate Dr. Sharif Md. Fayezul Alam handed down the verdict.
