Drug peddler jailed
A mobile court here yesterday sentenced a drug peddler to suffer six months simple imprisonment for drug peddling at village Jhhikra in Kalaroa upazila.
The convict is Asaduzzaman Asad, 30, of village Jhhikra in Kalaroa upazila. Locals said acting on a tip-off a team of Narcotics Department of Satkhira circle led raided the house of the convict at village Jhhikra and arrested him with five grams of drug yesterday.
The mobile court led by Kalaroa upazila nirbahi officer ANM Tariqul Islam held a trial at the village. The mobile court, after a hearing, sentenced the convict to suffer six months simple imprisonment in presence of local people.
Meanwhile, another mobile court fined three clinic owners yesterday as they failed to show proper documents and requisite physicians and nurses at Kaliganj upazila headquarters.
