Workshop on child labour

Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) yesterday organised a daylong training workshop on child labour for journalists at the VIP lounge of Khulna Press Club. KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Presided over by director general (DG) of PIB Dulal Chandra Biswas, the training workshop was attended by Pro-vice chancellor of Khulna University Prof Dr Fayekuzzaman and editor of Dainik Purbanchal Alhaj Liakat Ali as special guests. The chief guest, mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque said the government is implementing different programmes in cooperation with international forums to address the menace of child labour. Generally, Poverty has been identified as the main factor for child labour. The DG of PIB Dulal Chandra Biswas in his speech laid emphasis on role of media to help address different problems arising out of child labour.
