30 mayor aspirants in Barisal divn lose security deposit
Thirty mayoral candidates in 11 out of 19 municipalities in Barisal division have lost their security deposit for failing to get one eighth of the total votes as per Election Commission law.
In Patuakhali municipalities, two out of five candidates have lost their security deposit as they failed to secure one eighth of the total votes cast in January 13 elections. They are Abdus Sattar Mridha and Md Nasir Uddin Khan.
In Barguna municipality, two out of five have mayoral candidates have lost their deposit. They are Golam Mostafa Kisli and Advocate Asaduzzaman Salin.
Six out of eight mayoral aspirants in Amtali municipality of Barguna district have lost their security deposit. They are advocate M A Qader, Md Farid Uddin, Md Mujibur Rahman, Tuhin, Abdul Alim and Zillur Rahman.
Those who have lost security deposit in mayoral polls of Patharghata municipality are Mosharraf Hossain Sohrab, Golam Sarwar Hiru, Taslima Mollick and Jahangir Alam. Seven candidates were in the race for the mayoral post in this municipality.
In Bhola municipality, two out of four mayoral candidates have lost their security deposit. They are Abdul Momin Tulu and Safiur Rahman Kiron.
In Doulatkhan municiupality of Bhola district, mayoral aspirant Nasir Uddin Khan has lost his security deposit. Three candidates were in the race for the mayoral post.
In Borhanuddin municipality of the disrict, two out of six candidates have lost their security deposit. They are Saidur Rahman Milon and Anwar Hossain Bhuyan.
Three out of six candidates have lost their security deposit in Mothbaria municipality under Pirojpur district. They are Motaleb Modhu, Nafiz Ahmed and Rafiqul Islam.
Only one out of five candidates has lost his deposit in Bakherganj municipality under Barisal district while three of six candidates in Banaripara municipality of the district have lost their security deposit They are Motiur Rahman in Bakerganj and Motaleb Hossain Mridha, Jalil Mridha and SM Harun in Banaripara.
In Nolchiti municipality of Jhalakathi district, four of seven mayoral aspirants have lost their security deposit in the elction. They are Taslim Uddin Chowdhury, Enayet Karim Mishu, Zakir Hossain Talukder and Jahangir Hossain.
Ninteen councillor candidates in Patuakhali municipality and six councilor candidates in Kalapara municipality have also lost their deposit.
