One jailed for stalking
A mobile court in the town yesterday sent a young man to one year's imprisonment for stalking.
Momtaz Begum, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Kushtia Sadar pronounced the verdict after hearing both the sides.
Convict Iqbal Hossain, 23, is son of Iaz Uddin of Courtpara in the town.
Mobile court sources said, Iqbal used to tease Morium Khatun Meghna, a student of accounting at Kushtia Government College on the way to college from her house.
On the day, Iqbal, also a student of 3rd year Degree class at the same college started to harass Meghna on the train.
On information, a team from Kushtia Sadar police station arrested Iqbal soon after the train arrived at the station.
The mobile court rushed to the spot and sentenced Iqbal to one year jail.
