College student hacked to death
A college student was hacked to death at west Sonamukhi village under Sadar upazila of Shariatpur on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Salauddin Russel, 22, son of Salam Sarder of the same village and also a final year (honours) student of Madaripur Government Nazim Uddin College.
Locals said, 8-10 men of Mojibur Shikder, a member of Rudrakar Union Parishad, entered the house of Salam Sarder at around 10:45pm on Sunday and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, locals rescued Russel and took him to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
