13-month-old girl burnt alive in Satkhira
A-13-month-old girl was burnt to death and her parents received serious burn injuries while criminals set fire to their dwelling house at Pathatghata village in Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Jui, 13-month-daughter of Zahangir Hossain of the village. Deceased's parents Zahangir Hossain, 32, and mother Suraiya Yasmin, 27, also received serious burn injuries. They were admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital in a critical condition. Later, they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital as their condition deteriorated, hospital sources said.
Police arrested the victim's uncle, Alamgir Hossain, 35, son of Akbar Hossain in this connection.
Quoting locals police said there a dispute between two siblings of Zahangir Hossain and Alamgir Hossain over paternal land for the last three years.
Alamgir used to threaten Zahangir to face the dire consequence.
A case was filed with Sadar police station accusing Alamgir.
