Lalmonirhat: Ten mayor aspirants from two areas
Five candidates are contesting for the post of mayor in the upcoming election to Lalmonirhat municipality. The candidates are Reazul Islam Rintu, Mosharraf Hossain Rana, Hafizur Rahman Babla, Chittaranjan Saha and Abdur Rashid, according to our correspondent.
Reazul Islam Rintu has been nominated by the AL-led grand alliance while Hafizar Rahman Babla by BNP. Mosarraf Hossain Rana was the president of BNP municipality unit. He was expelled from the party recently.
Forty-seven candidates are contesting for councillor posts while 12 for women reserved seats.
Five candidates are contesting for the mayoral post in Pathgram municipal election in Lalmonirhat district. None withdrew their candidature. The mayor candidates are Shamsher Ai, Anisur Rahman, Shafika Rahman, Salauzzaman Opel and Morshed Alam Shyamol, says our correspondent.
Thirty-eight candidates are contesting for the post of councilor while nine for women reserved seats.
