Meanwhile, the venue of the convocation has been tastefully decorated with all preparations to make the event a grand success. Vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Saifuddin Shah said at a press briefing yesterday that he would raise the demand for allocation of more Tk 200 crore for implementation of remaining infrastructural development projects of the university. Khulna University needs 225 acres of land as envisaged in its master plan approved by the government. But the university has been given only 106 acres which is not adequate for its expansion, he said. Prof Saifuddin Shah, sixth vice-chancellor of the 19-year-old university vowed that relentless endeavours would continue to brighten further the future of the academic institution. Khulna University promises to offer quality education and maintain the highest academic setup in line with international standard, he said.
