Hizb-ut Towhid members held
Four female members of Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Towhid were arrested from village Goila under Agoilzhara upazila of the district at about 11:30pm yesterday.
They are Bokul Begum, 50, and Asma Akter Runa, 28, of village Shahzira of Gournadi upazila, Farzana Akter Moni, 20, of village Sakhokathi of Gournadi upazila and Zebunnesa, 19, of village Sahajira of Gournadi upazila of the district.
Officer-in-charge of Agoiljhara PS Ashok Nandi said, acting in a tip-off, a police team raided a house and arrested the women with nine books on Islamic jihad, 12 CDs and leaflets.
The arrestees claimed themselves as the member of Hizb-ut-Towhid, the OC said.
