Another RU Shibir man handed over to police
Chhatra League (BCL) activists yesterday severely beat up another Shibir man at Rajshahi University (RU) and handed him over to police.
The Shibir cadre was identified as Shariful Islam, the university's engineering faculty unit Shibir president and also a third year student of Material Science department.
Sources said a group of BCL men caught Shariful and severely beat him with sticks and rods near the university playground inflicting serious injury in his head and chest at around 10:30am.
Later, the BCL men informed Motihar police station and handed him over to law enforcers at around 11:00am, sources said.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Motihar police station, Abul Khair told this correspondent that the arrestee might have link with February 9 campus violence that killed BCL worker Faruk Hossain.
“We shall take legal steps after primary interrogation”, he added.
