Jubo League man attacked
An activist of Jubo League was injured in an attack by rivals over submission of tender in the town yesterday.
Shafikul Islam Shimul, general secretary of district Jubo League, said yesterday was the last date for submission of tenders for taking lease of Singra Bridge and two water bodies.
Jubo League activist Manik,30, went to drop tender at Roads and Highways office at about 10:00am. But rivals dragged him out of the office and hit him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured.
He was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
Police later arrested two people--Samad and Kamal--from Kanaikhali bus stand in the town on charge of their involvement in the incident.
