Roadblock to protest load shedding during WC tie
Chandpur-Comilla Road was blocked at several points by locals in three upazilas yesterday morning protesting load shedding during Tuesday night's Brazil-North Korea match of the World Cup (WC).
Several thousand passengers on various vehicles from different parts of the country including Dhaka, Chittagong, Comilla and Sylhet remained stranded for a few hours.
The protesters barricaded the road at Bakila in Hajiganj upazila, Doabhanga in Shahrasti upazila and Jagatpur in Kachua upazila.
Later Rab personnel rushed to the spot and dispersed the agitators.
