Baby abducted for ransom rescued
A body boy kidnapped for ransom from Kalapara upazila headquarters on Friday was rescued the next day after about 37 hours.
The victim was identified as Shihab, 2, son of one Ramijuddin of Shantibagh area.
Police arrested three people in this connection. They are Nasrin Nahar Bristi, 22, Akhtaruzzaman Joni Matubbar, 28, and Helal Gazi, 30, all hailing from Haldibaria village under Amtali upazila in Barguna district.
Police said, Bristi and her husband Joni came to visit her father Ramijuddin's house in the town on Thursday.
At midnight Bristi kidnapped her stepbrother Shihab with the help of her husband Akhtaruzzaman. They later demanded Tk two lakh from Ramijuddin as ransom on Friday over cell phone.
