Storm kills 2,damages 300 houses
At least two people were killed and 300 houses damaged yesterday as a storm lashed ten villages in two upazilas of the district.
The deceased were identified as Subodh Mondal, 70, and his wife Baruni Mondal, 55, of Banarjhor village under Kotalipara upazila.
The storm also caused the death of many domestic animals.
Sources said, a thunder struck a house at around 1:30 last night, killing the two in their steep.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdul Motin of Gopalganj sadar upazila visited the spot.
