48 Rohingyas to be handed over to Nasaka today
Cox's Bazar jail authorities are facing problem with 636 Rohingya inmates.
Though the sentence terms of 89 Rohingyas have expired several months back, the jail authorities could not yet send them back to their country.
On the other hand, local detainees are facing problem as 547 under trial Rohingyas have been accommodated in the district jail. They were arrested on different charges.
Jailer Anwar Hossain said 48 of the 89 Rohingyas whose sentences have expired would be handed over to Myanmar border force Nasaka at Teknaf this (Thursday) morning
Teknaf 42 Rifles Battalion Commander Lt Col Mozammel Hossain said 48 Rohingyas will be handed over to Nasaka during a flag meeting between the border forces of two countries on the bank of Naf River at 11:00am today.
