Two killed in trawler capsize
Two Hindu devotees died and five others went missing after an engine-driven trawler sank in the Dhaki River at Kalibari in Dakope upazila Tuesday midnight.
Police said over 50 Hindu devotees boarded the trawler from Kalibari ghat for joining Kali Puja at Kamini Bashini in the same upazila.
The accident took place as another empty trawler coming from opposite direction collided head-on with the trawler.
Seven people went missing while others managed to swim ashore. Locals recovered two bodies - Bishakha Rani Roy, 32, and her son Jhoti Roy - from the river yesterday morning.
