List of war criminals in Saidpur
Names of more than 100 people, who opposed the independence of Bangladesh and involved in killing innocent people in 1971, have been listed as war criminals in Saidpur in the district.
The list was prepared by the Commander of the Muktijoddha Sangsad Saidpur Upazila Mohammad Ekarmul Huq and local leaders after 38 years of independence of the country.
The sources said the people would be put on dock for trial for their crimes during the War of Liberation in 1971 according to the election pledge of Awami League.
The draft list of the war criminals was prepared in a period of over two months, where the number of non-Bengali people is more than the local people. The draft list will be re-checked to avoid any fault.
Sources said the name of the listed criminals would be published in due time.
During the nine months War of Liberation, repression and killings of Bengali people were carried out by the Pakistani occupation forces, in collaboration of the Razakars, Al-badars and other local collaborators.
