Citizens' Rights Movement at a human chain yesterday urged the president to make the names of the judges public before their appointment them to ensure transparency and uphold the image of the judiciary. The speakers at the human chain at the south gate of the High Court also said the government should make mandatory for all judges to get first classes in all public examinations from Secondary School Certificate (SSC). They also demanded increasing the honorarium for judges and constructing a multi-storied apartment for all judges on the premises of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Senior Vice President of the movement Md Mofidul Haq Sarkar presided over the human chain while Secretary General Tusher Rehman read out the written statement. Water scientist Enamul Haque, columnist Syed Abul Maksud, Ruhin Hossain Prince of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Barrister Tanjibul Alam, Sheba Executive Director Dr Nuruddin and environmentalist Nazimuddin also spoke.
