Seven outlaws of a newly formed extremist outfit were arrested in Bagerhat and Khulna yesterday while eight members of another outlawed party held in Chuadanga on Thursday. Our Staff Correspondent in Khulna reports: Police arrested seven outlaws while pasting posters yesterday evening. According to Bagerhat superintendent of police (SP) Mizanur Rahman, the arrestees identified themselves as activists of the newly formed underground organisation Biplobi Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist). Leaflets seized from them called for 'eliminating the class enemies' from the society, he said. According to a correspondent in Bagerhat, the outlaws pasted posters on the walls of Narayan Chandra Paul's rice mill and on a tree at Mansha Bazar and on another tree at Chhuter intersection of Rupsa-Moubhog area of Fakirhat upazila near Bagerhat-Khulna border. Police said they raided several areas in Mansha upazila in Bagerhat and Rupsa upazila in Khulna and arrested them. The arrestees are Monir Laskar, 20, son of Delwar Hossain of Anandanagar village, Zakir Sheikh, 43, son of Omar Ali Sheikh of Rupsa village, Sukumar Paul, 25, son of Asim Paul of Ghatbhog village and Mintu Sarder, 30, son of Abdur Rahman of the same village, Azmal Hawladar, 25, son of Asiruddin of Goal Bathan village under Rupsa upazila, Mithun Moholi, 20, son of Jiten Moholi of Dahor Moubhog village and Pavel Sheikh, 18, son of Halim Sheikh of Mansha village under Fakirhat upazila. The computer composed posters read, 'The revenge for killing of comrades Golam Nabi and Latif started with the murder of Sattar Chairman. The new party has been launched with the vow to eliminate the class enemies." Our Correspondent in Kushtia reports: Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Chuadanga arrested eight outlawed party cadres and recovered three firearms from their possession on Thursday night. The outlaws were identified as Robiul Islam, 34, son of Sattar Sheikh, Tota, 40, son of Mohir Uddin, Jihad, 25, son of Salauddin, Nesar Uddin, 45, son of Aftab Uddin, Raha, 30, son of Mokbul, Mofiz, 30, son of Moslem of Khamrail, Shamsuzzoha, 40, son of Sadar Uddin of Sadar upazila of Jhenidah and Fozlur Rahman, 32, son of Serajul Islam of Jadabpur in Chougachha in Jessore. The arrestees belonged to outlawed Biplobi Communist Party (BCP) while Nesar was a regional leader of the outfit, Rab said. According to Rab, the BCP cadres were entering Chuadanga town on a microbus for committing crime. On a tip-off, a team of Rab-6 led by Captain AGM Raseduzzaman Rajib took position in Darshana bus stand area at about 8:30 pm. The Rab team intercepted the bus and arrested the outlaws. Rab also recovered arms including one rifle, one pistol, a shutter gun, five bullets and two sharp weapons from their possession.
