Narayanganj journalist murder: accused Tusher confesses to crime

An accused today confessed to his involvement in the murder of journalist Ilias Hossain at Bandar upazila in Narayanganj on Sunday.

Narayanganj Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir recorded the confessional statement of Tusher, the key accused, in the murder case, reports our Narayanganj correspondent. 

The court also sent Tusher to jail as he was produced before the court today on completion of his three-day remand, said Inspector Azgor Hossain of Bandar Police Station. 

Three people including Tusher were arrested between Sunday night and Monday morning. Five other accused are still absconding. 

Police are trying to arrest them, Inspector Azgor said. 

On Sunday, some people hacked Ilias, a correspondent of local daily Dainik Bijoy, to death around 8:30pm at Adampur in Bandar area while he was on his way home at Jeodhora, according to police. 

Victim's wife Julekha Begum filed a murder case with the police station on Monday, accusing eight persons including the three arrestees.
