Madrasa cook confesses to killing student Hasibul in Bagerhat

Siddiqur Rahman Hawlader, cook of Alhaj Rahmatiya Sriti Shishu Sadan Hafeji and Qawmi Madrasa, killed student Hasibul Sheikh in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat early December 6, police said.

Siddiqur admitted to committing the crime when he gave confessional statement to Bagerhat Senior Judicial Magistrate Samir Mallick, our Bagerhat correspondent reports quoting Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra Roy.

In the confessional statement, Siddiqur said that he murdered Hasibul as he became angry with him for opening the door of a bathroom at midnight, said SP Pankaj.

The body of 10-year-old Hasibul Sheikh was recovered from near the madrasa after Fajr prayer on December 6.

Mother of the child, Taslima Begum, filed a murder case with the Morrelganj Police Station on December 7.

Police arrested teacher Hafizur Rahaman Faruk and cook Siddiqur following the case.
