Another suspected measles death at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital
Another patient with measles-like symptoms has died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), taking the death toll to six since March 29, 2026.
RMCH has not disclosed the age or identity of the deceased.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Dr Shankar K Biswas, spokesperson of RMCH, said 12 new suspected measles patients were admitted in the last 24 hours (till 12:00 pm today), while 13 were discharged.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles patients admitted to RMCH so far this year has reached 352, with 130 currently undergoing treatment, said Dr Shankar.
The hospital has been facing a steady influx of measles patients in recent weeks, putting pressure on its paediatric wards and ICU facilities.
Authorities said they are closely monitoring the situation as the number of infections fluctuates.
