On Thursday, another 13‑month‑old child, Saifal died in Tangail General Hospital.

Hospital paediatrician Dr Saiful Islam warned that measles is a highly contagious viral disease and urged parents to ensure timely vaccination, isolate infected children, and follow hygiene rules.

He advised immediate medical consultation if children show symptoms such as fever, rash, or red eyes.

Tangail General Hospital Deputy Director Khandaker Sadiqur Rahman said a separate ward was needed due to the rising number of cases.

The hospital’s diarrhoea ward has now been prepared for measles treatment. As of this morning, the number of patients admitted to the newly-prepared measles ward was 23, Sadiqur said.
