24 die with Covid-19, symptoms in a day in Khulna

Seventeen Covid-19 patients died at four hospitals in Khulna in 24 hours till this morning.

Of the deceased, eight diagnosed with Covid-19 died at coronavirus-dedicated Khulna Medical College Hospital, the hospital's focal person Dr Suhas Ranjan Sarker told our Khulna correspondent.

During the same time (till 8:00am), seven others died of Covid-like symptoms at the same hospital, he said.

Khulna General Hospital's Covid unit spokesperson Dr Kazi Abu Rashed said, two Covid-19 patients died in the 24 hours. Total 66 patients have been undergoing treatment and 14 new patients were admitted to the hospital, he added.

Khulna's Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital's Covid unit spokesperson Dr Prakash Chandra Debnath said, three patients who tested positive for coronavirus died during the period.

Total 42 people are receiving treatment at the Covid unit and 10 of them remain in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the physician said.

Gazi Medical College Hospital Founder Gazi Mizanur Rahman said that four Covid-19 patients who were receiving treatment breathed their last in the same time.

Currently, 94 people have been undergoing treatment at the hospital's Coronavirus unit, he said, adding that nine of them are in ICU and seven in HDU.
