16 die at RMCH Covid unit in 24 hours, positivity rate in Rajshahi 31.92%

Sixteen patients died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital till 8 this morning.

Of them, eight were coronavirus positive while others were suffering from symptoms, reports our Rajshahi correspondent quoting Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani, director of RMCH.

Among the deceased, nine were from Rajshahi, two from Chapainawabganj, one from Natore, three from Pabna and one was from Kushtia, the director said.

Meanwhile, 188 samples were tested at the RT-PCR lab of the hospital. Of the samples, 84 tested positive. In the medical college lab, 282 samples were tested of which 66 were positive. The current positivity rate of Rajshahi stands at 31.92 percent.

A total of 527 patients were being treated at the hospital's Covid unit till this morning.
