14 die of Covid-19 and symptoms in Barishal division in 24 hours

Four people died of Covid-19 and 10 others with Covid-like symptoms in Barishal division in 24 hours till this morning.

During this period, samples of 1,299 people were tested and 500 of them were found positive for the virus. Positivity rate stands at 38.49 percent, our correspondent reports, quoting Shyamal Krishna Mandal, assistant director of Barishal Divisional Health Office.

Moniruzzaman Shaheen, in-charge of the coronavirus unit of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, said that 10 people died with Covid-like symptoms and two died after being tested positive at the hospital.

Two more Covid-19 positive patients died in other districts under the division, said Moniruzzaman, adding that at least 24,596 people have tested positive in the division till this morning.
