11 die in Covid units of 2 Khulna hospitals in 24 hours

Eleven patients died while undergoing treatment at the Covid units of two Khulna hospitals in 24 hours till 8am today.

The hospitals are Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) and Gazi Medical College Hospital.

Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder, resident medical officer and spokesperson of the Covid unit at KMCH, said that seven patients died at the unit in 24 hours till this morning. Of them, six were Covid-19 positive and the other had symptoms.

A total of 200 people were undergoing treatment at the hospital's Covid unit till 8am today. Of them, 136 are undergoing treatment in red zone, 24 in yellow zone, 20 are in high-dependency unit (HDU) and 20 at intensive care unit (ICU), he said.

Gazi Medical College Hospital owner Gazi Mizanur Rahman said, four patients died at the hospital's Covid unit during 24 hours till 8am. One hundred and three patients were admitted at the Covid unit of the hospital till this morning.
On the other hand, no patients died in the Covid units of Khulna General Hospital and Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital during this time.
