Father, son hacked to death in Sirajganj

A father and his son were hacked to death in Randhunibari area of Sirajganj's Belkuchi upazila last night.

Siraj Sikdar (55) and his son Saydee Sikdar (18) were returning home from Randhunibari bazar on a motorbike around 8:00pm when they came under attack, said Officer-in-Charge of Belkuchi Police Station Golam Mostafa.

Eight to ten criminals attacked them with sharp weapons, leaving them dead on the spot, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting the OC.

Informed by locals, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The bodies were sent to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.

Siraj Sikdar, hailed from Char-Konabari area in Belkuchi upazila and was accused in seven cases including murder, robbery and arms.

Police are investigating the incident and trying to nab the criminals, the police official said.
